Tips on entering a contract with a Chinese partner

1. Check the information of the Chinese party. Whether it is a registered company? A registered company has a business certificate and the record can be found at the authority.
2. Is the company’s registered capital appropriate with the transaction? A large company usually has big registered capital and a small sized company usually with a limited registered capital.
3. Trade practice. Does the partner have a good reputation regarding its trade practice with other companies?
4. On the spot check. If necessary, you may arrange an on-the-spot check of the company before making the deal. The investigation may found its actual location, size, number of employees, working space, relevant licenses, its shareholders etc. Such information may help you to evaluate its credit.
